Gold N Grand Begins Tomorrow
Gold N Grand, the premiere all breed horse in Northern California, kicks-off tomorrow, Friday, March 28th, and runs through the weekend at the Murieta Equestrian Center in Rancho Murieta.  Gold N Grand features a myriad of different classes including Pleasure, English, Leadline, Halter, Trail, and Reining. Over 350 buckles will be handed out over the three day event for 1st through 5th place finishes in both three-day point accumulation and day awards. There will also be nine high-point western saddle awards in youth, amateur, open, and reigning groupings.

The show is approved by the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Association, AQHA Special Event, APHA for Paint Alternative Competition, and the West Coast Reigning Horse Association.
There is also action outside the show arena. There will be many vendors selling tack, show clothes, equipment and food. For those showing, Murieta tries to make the event feel like home with bounce houses for the kids, barn parties and pancake breakfasts.
It appears that there is a good chance the show will see rain on Friday and Saturday but should be clear on Sunday. This will only affect the outside arenas.
Here is the revised schedule release on Tuesday.
This, the “Spring” Gold N Grand, is the first of two of the big horse shows for the year. Â Gold N Grand Summer will also take place at the Murieta Equestrian Center in August.

Gold N Grand Summer 2012
Another great Gold N Grand came and went. In addition to the horse show and the shopping, there was free snow cones everyday, a water slide, a barn party and a pancake breakfast! I think the two new covered arenas are a welcomed addition particularly to this show.
People showed their generosity for their fellow horse showers by donating some great items to the Family of Chris Kozlowski silent auction. The bidding was hot and heavy up to the last seconds and from the looks of the bidding sheets, people were bidding generously also. A celebration of life service was held on Monday after the show.
Please enjoy a few pictures of the auction and show.

Spring 2012 Gold N Grand Pictures
Wow, did the exhibitors ever luck out with the weather at this years spring Gold N Grand! With rain threatening the whole weekend the schedule was planned for everyone to have a covered place to show, well, except the trail people! However, it never actually rained during the day. Trail was pretty muddy on Sunday, but everyone managed well. The reining pens were a little crowded since they had to cut down the arenas to make a small warm up area for them. Friday, the weather was beautiful, and Saturday was cold. English classes were only about 2 hours long, and everything else used most of the day. Most of the classes I saw were well attended, and there were plenty of vendors for shopping! Results have not been posted as of yet, but the awards were beautiful. Saddles for weekend high points, buckles to top five weekend circuit winners, and embroidered halters for AQHA weekend circuit winners. The photographer for the show was Shane Rux. Enjoy some candids from around the show.
