Bit of Britain presents a challenge for the lower levels across America in their efforts to keep people excited about competing in the sport of Eventing! We’re calling it: “Chase the Challenge Across America.”

For the rest of the 2011 season at recognized horse trials across the country, any horse and rider combination that wins two shows back-to-back in levels Beginner Novice through Training will win a $25 gift card to Bit of Britain and a pair of Nunn Finer Brushing Boots ($48.95 value).

At her Rio Linda ranchette, Lesa Broadman keeps a huge horse that thinks it’s a lap dog.

She’s planning to ask Guinness World Records to create a new category and recognize her bay gelding Hunter as the world’s tallest riding horse.

Update Sunday May 15: From Sally Harrison’s blog: “In a precautionary move to ensure the health and safety of horses, the Breeder’s Invitational board of directors has canceled their Breeder’s Invitational cutting event in Tulsa, Okla., from May 14-28, and the National Cutting Horse Association has also cancelled the Mercuria World Series of Cutting this weekend in Tulsa.” For more information, read Sally Harrison’s Blog.
