PegasusTV is a relatively new entrant into the horse broadcasting arena. Â Their primary mode of broadcast is via video on their website www.pegasustv.org although they do have over-the-air broadcast facilities in Houston. Â This past week they have been presenting live coverage of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Â This morning I was taking in some coverage of their Junior Breeding Beef Show. Â It’s always fun to take in some large animal demonstrations first thing in the morning.
It’s also not too late to take in the Show. Â The Donkey and Mule Show will begin at 1:00 PM (I’m assuming Central so that would be 11:00 AM Pacific). Â And continue tomorrow and Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM (Central).
My only complaint, and I don’t know if this was because of my internet connection or because of their feed, the video was a little buggy. Â In this modern age we like to get high definition quality video from the internet; however, I think we’d take a little less quality if the video played right. Â Unfortunately, at least with this broadcast, I was getting neither.
This is not the first horse related television venture. Â RFD-TV has seen tremendous success on with horse shows on their platform; however, others have not faired so well. Â Here’s hoping PegasusTV will be a success. Â As horse owners, it seems like we can never get enough horse content, so definitely the more the better.
Here’s from their press release about their channel and expansion plans:
PegasusTV 57.4 will not begin its regular programming schedule until mid-April, and is providing this special live broadcast as a service to the Houston area as one of the community broadcast commitments being made in all its local affiliate channel markets. Future offerings will include entertaining and informational series and shows focused on horse and equestrian activities, farm and ranch country living, veterinary and animal husbandry, documentaries, movies and a wide diversity of events and competitions.
Pegasus Television Network will be expanding throughout 2011 with a continuing roll-out of affiliate channels, including those in Dallas, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Fresno, Bakersfield and more during the 2nd and 3rd quarters.  For information regarding local or national advertising, program acquisition or investor relations, or to simply learn more about PegasusTV, email info@pegasustv.com or visit PegasusTV.com.
