The National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity Non Pro and Intermediate Non Pro Finalists were decided Monday, September 26, with the completion of the cow work. It took a composite score of 618 to make both the Non Pro and Intermediate Non Pro finals.
Leading the field of sixteen Non Pro riders advancing to the clean-slate finals, which will be held September 30 at the Reno Livestock Events Center in Reno, Nevada, is six-time Non Pro Futurity Champion and NRCHA Million Dollar Rider Anne Reynolds. Reynolds rode Smart Magic Trick to a 646 composite score.
Smart Magic Trick, by Very Smart Remedy and out of Magical Lena, is the result of Reynold’s renowned breeding program. In fact, Very Smart Remedy has sired Reynold’s last two Snaffle Bit Futurity Champions.
The top ten Intermediate Non Pro riders also earned final’s berths. Shawn Renshaw, of Nipomo, California, earned the high composite score of 641. Renshaw rode his horse, Gennys Prize, to the win. Gennys Prize, by Smokums Prize out of Genuinely Perfect, is owned by Shawn and Kim Renshaw.
The Non Pro and Intermediate Non Pro Finals will be held Friday, September 30.
